History: He was born to a couple that were part of a wandering caravan. However, when his parents saw that he had been born with silver hair, it was seen as an evil sign. For, one just born should not have the hair of an old man. So, they kept his head shaved for the entirety of his childhood to try to hide the face. His mother was a fortune teller with limited powers, and he inherited her gift. But his is much more powerful than hers, and he could not control it as he grew older. He left his parents at the age of fifteen, knowing that he was supposed to be elsewhere. He made his money in the streets as he could while he travelled and eventually showed up at Valerian's door. When the two met, he told Valerian that he was going to save his life at some point and that he was meant to be at the castle. Valerian allowed him to stay, thinking that his powers might be useful to warn of hunters or other dangers, and eventually turned him. He was the first member of the coven.
Abilities/Skills: immune to age and sickness, enhanced strength, speed, hearing, and vision, night vision, incredible healing ability, clairvoyance
Personality: His ability to see the future and not be able to control it completely has left him a bit out of touch with the present. So, he is a little odd and hard to understand for most people. He is very superstitious even after being turned. He enjoys reading and tends to be rather quiet since he is well aware of his oddities. He does not like to be around too many people at once as it tends to shove him into visions of the future. This has led him to develop a bit of social anxiety. However, with Valerian's assistance, he is beginning to get a grip on his power and can control it more now. The others generally leave him to his own devices, and he does not mind the solitude. He is rather observant, though, and understands the others in the coven better than probably anyone else.
Non-Bonding Companions for the Ball: None
Story: As soon as they arrived at the ball, Riordan bolted for the right and away from the large crowds of people. He had been here before. Well, he hadn't been here before, but he had seen it before many times, in fact. This place featured in one of the few recurring visions that he had had over the years. Still, the crowd made him uncomfortable, so he found a more empty area by the windows.
He wasn't sure if the others even knew how uncomfortable he was. They probably didn't as he usually kept to himself. Marcel might. He was almost as observant as he was. Hendrik would be clueless, and Valerian would be too wrapped up in his own issues. Leander would probably be too distracted. That was alright. It didn't really bother him. They were all still great individuals.
He breathed a sigh of relief once he finally reached the windows and could look out them to the water beyond. He saw a whale pass by and couldn't help but smile. When he had first seen this vision, he had had no idea what in the world the creature was, so he had searched through several books on sea creatures before finally finding an illustration of a whale. Since then, he had read several books on them and other marine animals, but he had never seen any of them until now. It was rather fulfilling to stand at the window and be able to name the animals to himself and all the various things he knew about them, and it helped him to focus and calm himself.
He glanced around the room and could see Hendrik in the middle of the crowd with the other two and resolved to stay right where he was. They could find him later, and with that thought in mind, he went back to his peaceful whale watching.
