History: He was born as the second child of his parents and grew up in a happy home. When he was old enough, he joined the town's guard and began to train with axes alongside his father. During an attack on the town, he was gravely injured and assumed dead. However, he was found by a vampire and turned. He is unsure who turn him or why as they were gone by the time he awoke. Over the years, he has had to learn to live with his new life, and there have been many painful lessons as he was left on his own. He left home as soon as he was able, unwilling to put those he loved in danger. He travelled to the nearest city and began his life as a mercenary. He makes a decent living with his battle prowess and keeps an eye on his sister's descendents every now and then. He has heard rumor that there are ways for him to manage his blood lust and has travelled to the ball with the hopes of finding the source.

Abilities/Skills: Impervious to illness and age, strength, night vision, axe-wielding, basic blacksmithing, speed
Personality: He is a rather grim individual and does not speak much. When he does, it is only by necessity and to give his opinion on a situation. His opinions are usually well thought out given the number of years he has lived. There is little that surprises him, and he is efficiently deadly in battle. He maintains his distance from others in order to keep his true nature a secret.

Non-Bonding Companions for the Ball: None

Meeting Notes (Written by Shard): I think we should split up and search, the dragon with the darker hide suggested. Their companion with equally bold checkerboard markings nodded in agreement, silently.

They had not 'broken shell' so much as 'rolled into one another' while still confined to their pseudo-artificial shells, surrounded as they were by more than two dozen small and large orbs. Even in their youngest moments, before hatching, they knew they'd be together, so they might as well make it a good partnership.

The lighter of the pair was usually the quiet one who did the nimble work, but was also pretty clever on their own terms - they realized they could break out together, while the darker one took initiative and put plans into action that involved more muscle. All that in the span of a few hours at this bizarre party... Their donor parents have watched this with amused interest.

They'd spent most of their earliest post-hatching moments preening each other and making sure there were no icky bits anywhere, no sharp shell fragments around to step on and make an unsightly mess. There had been a couple of them that slipped and cut themselves, healing quickly but remembering the lesson they'd just learned. And as telepaths might be, those youngest hatchlings shared that pain with the rest.

It was the lighter of this pair that watched the hunters come and go from the weird portals and cavern entrances that led to worlds very far distant. Krasheva by name, sure of themselves and sure that something else was out there too. But it was the darker Cyrsheva that realized there was actually an entire different portion of their 'hatching party' chambers out there! That was where they needed to be!

The 'bipedal' part of the Ball was so weird to them. They'd only been awake and about for a 'day' or so, and had spent all of that time with other dragons. Magical dragons, burly and strong ones, speedy and sleek ones, pretty and flighty ones. So now, on this other side, they were still near lots of dragons, due to many of the hatchlings heading out to seek their humanoid partners. But it was by far populated by 'people'.

We will be bigger than many of these, Krasheva bespoke their sibling.

But much smaller than our own, Cyrsheva replied from across the hall, watching as one of those big-sibs approached their own new friend.

Bigger isn't necessarily better, Krasheva reminded them. I - may have...

Found one?

The one!

They'd caught a whiff, apparently some dragons could 'smell' their one, others 'detected' with other senses. It was mixed with a lot of other smells they didn't know the names of. Gunpowder, ozone, alcohol, weed. It was to a darker hall and a tucked-away room they went. Darker, but not quieter. A few voices broke out in laughter, congratulatory noises, after crashing glass and a thud.

"Maybe a mini-fridge," someone said, "but you'd want it warmed up, right? Later?"

"I... don't know what that is," a man said, gruffly, but he'd been the one to be congratulated - someone else had retrieved the axe he'd just thrown into a pair of tall bottles at the end of a firing range. One person sat nearby pondering with her gaze up into the ceiling, and another held a mug which presumably had been filled with whatever the empty bottles provided earlier.

"A mini-fridge!" It was Mars Walsh excitedly waving that mug around, pointing with it dangling from her thumb and her fingers aimed toward the corner of the room. A white box, with glass on the front, and more of those bottles inside it. "We use them to keep booze but we also use em up in the medical center for preserving blood samples and health kits."

The pair of dragons hadn't yet been noticed, somehow blending in with the dark walls even if they had all that checkerboarding going on. They watched with interest, when this axe-throwing man examined that axe before placing it carefully onto his back in a sling. Perhaps he had been asked to remove it earlier, as it seemed to surprise him that it remained in place, he patted himself down and seemed to be wondering whether any other items he normally wore were now on his person... It was a formal party, axes not needed... But here in the firing range things were a little different.

"I think you may have an unhealthy interest in my ... condition," the man said. But Mars laughed loudly and waved it off.

"Just trying to be helpful, it's a condition I've seen in a few people here and there."

He said nothing more, though he'd still wondered... how had they known about that condition? Magic at work, certainly. Well perhaps it was the fact that the bar in the casino as well as the menu for the event's meals included fresh blood sourced from 'whatever' animals they'd been harvesting for other parts of it.

We know too, a voice in his head spoke.

But we won't tell if you don't want us to.

He didn't startle easily, Kazimir maintained his cautious stance at all times. But he looked around specifically for the sources of those eerily similar mental voices. They came from the obvious pair of dragons, dark and slightly-less-dark, standing on their hind legs and coming - currently - up to his hip at most.

You don't have to be alone so much, said one.

We can make sure you're safe from harm or ... harming them. The other added, but we'd like to see the world with you, too.

"You... both?" Kazimir's eyebrow had gone up.

Of course! One of us will be looking for danger. And the other will make sure it stays away! Even if that means keeping you away from something you value.

"I... don't even know what to think." Kazimir looked at the thick red remnants of the blood in his own mug. "Maybe I'll find a mage to enchant a wine cabinet for my own 'mini-fridge'..."

The dragons seemed to love that thought!
