He was sixteen at the time. He took over management of their home with determination and continued to care for his sister. He had been taught by his father how to hunt and gather food from the nearby woods, and he was attacked by a pack of wolves when he missed the signs of their activity while he hunted. Marcel found him by chance shortly after the attack and was able to get him back to the castle before he perished. Since Valerian owed him a favor, he asked him to save Hendrik. So, Valerian turned him. After he recovered, he returned to his home and shared his blood with his younger sister, finally curing her own sickly constituion. Since then, he has taken up residence in the castle with the others. He found out about the ball completely by accident but would not rest until he had managed to gain an invitation to the party.

He can often act without thinking, which can get him into trouble. When it comes to his family, he can certainly be serious when it is needed. If he deems something as a task that he needs to do, he will attack it with stubborn determination until he accomplishes it.

Non-Bonding Companions for the Ball: None

Story: Hendrik could not believe his luck as he passed through the portal to the venue of the ball. He had run into witch he'd once courted and was still on friendly terms with while he'd been in town to see his sister, and in catching up, she had told him about the ball and promised to get him an invtation! It was an unbelievably lucky chance, and after visitng with his sister, he had hurried back to the castle to exult in his triumph of scoring such an invite.

Leander and Marcel had been excited for a night out where they didn't have to be overly cautious of vampire hunters or werewolves or other vampires or the numerous other dangers that lurked in the area of their home. Riordan had been quiet at first but had agreed that only good things could come from such a visit. Valerian had been the real trial as Hendrik knew he would be. However, after much needling and finally agreeing to not mention the ball if he agreed to go, the eldest of them had finally relented. And now they were here!

He was unsuprised to see Valerian disappear into a less crowded area as soon as they arrived. Riordan gradually left their group as well to look through the various windows and seemingly contemplate whatever it was he thought about most of the time. Still, Leander and Marchel were with him, and he turned to them with a grin. "Let's dance!"

He quickly made he way to the dance floor and, despite not knowing anything about the music that was currently being played, began to dance however he felt. He'd seen several lovely ladies milling about. One had purple hair. Another had wings. A couple seemed to be part feline, and he thought they were all beautiful and intriguing in their own ways. He had every intention of flirting and having fun that night, and perhaps, he might even make a new friend or two. It certainly couldn't hurt to have acquaintances in other diminsions, right?
